Declaration of Financial Support

Global Allianz Law Firm LLP possesses the specialized expertise required to facilitate the filing of your immigration application for the Affidavit of Support.

The Affidavit of Support, Form I-134, serves the crucial purpose of affirming that a US Visa applicant’s sponsor can financially support the applicant during their stay in the US Additionally, it ensures that the sponsored foreign national will not become a public charge, defined as an individual primarily dependent on US government financial resources.

According to the Immigration and Nationality Act, Section 212 (a) (4) imposes restrictions on the admission of foreign nationals likely to become a public charge, as determined by relevant US authorities.

Whether you, as the sponsor, or the visa applicant is providing the financial support, it is imperative to demonstrate sufficient income or financial means to support the applicant during their short-term stay in the US

Initial evidence of sufficient income encompasses:

  1. Copies of the sponsor’s three most recent years of tax returns filed with the Internal Revenue Service. In cases where joint tax returns are filed, and only the sponsor’s income is considered, copies of W-2s for the most recent three tax years are required.
  2. If the sponsor relies on other income sources, such as household members or dependents, to meet the minimum income requirement, their federal income tax returns for the past three years are necessary. Each person contributing to the income should complete Form I-864a, establishing a contractual agreement between the sponsor and household members.
  3. Proof of current employment or self-employment, including recent pay stubs or an employment verification statement on company letterhead. This statement should detail the start date of employment, work performed, and the current salary.

It is crucial to include all necessary supporting documents when filing Form I-134 to avoid any complications. Failure to complete the form accurately or omitting essential documents may result in application denial. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) may request additional information or evidence before approving the affidavit of support. Filing Form I-134 online ensures the correct completion of the Affidavit of Support.
