The United States offers several ways for NATO personnel and their family members to visit the United States. The NATO visa is available for NATO Non-immigrant aliens that are citizens of nations that belong to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The NATO Visa applicant can be classified as under the following categories:-
- NATO-1 – In order to apply for this visa the applicant must be a permanent member of NATO or its subsidiaries or a staff member of the principal representative to NATO.
- NATO-2 – In order to apply for this visa the applicant must be a representative of member state to NATO or its subsidiary bodies or Advisor or technical expert of the NATO delegation visiting U.S.
- NATO-3 – In order to apply for this visa the applicant must be a Member of the official clerical staff accompanying the representative of member state to NATO or its subsidiary bodies.
- NATO–4 – In order to apply for this visa the applicant must be a foreign national classified as a NATO Official.
- NATO–5 – In order to apply for this visa the applicant must a foreign national classified as a NATO Expert.
- NATO–6 – In order to apply for this visa the applicant a member of the civilian component of the NATO.
- NATO-7 – It includes the attendants of NATO-1, NATO-2, NATO-3, NATO-4, NATO-5 or NATO-6 visa holder or a personal employee of NATO-1, NATO-2, NATO-3, NATO-4, NATO-5 or NATO-6 visa holder.
